Obituary
THOMAS, Roland E., age 88, of Taylor, December 28, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Katharina Como Thomas. Loving father of Mary Lesko (Jeffery), Robert Thomas, Cynthia Theeck (David), and Denise Brown (Craig). Dearest grandfather of Nathaniel, Daniel, Jennifer, Adam, Christen, Michael, Ryan, Andrew, and Nicole. He is survived by his sister Bernadine Thomas, 9 great-grandchildren, and many close friends and loved ones, especially his dear companion Dorothy. He is preceded in death by his daughter Veronica Angela and many loving siblings. Steadfast in his faith, Roland was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church with most recent membership at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in New Boston. He served in the US Army and retired from Ford Motor Company. Roland will be remembered for his love of sports, politics, gardening, storytelling, food, sense of adventure, and walks through metro parks and by the water in Wyandotte. He was truly one of a kind, and will be sorely missed. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
