Obituary
Theresa Mae Thomas, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan. Born on June 24, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, she lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication, reaching the age of 73.
Theresa devoted 25 years of her professional life as a pre-school teacher at L.G. & Daughters Child Care Center, a business owned by her sister. Her nurturing spirit and passion for education left a lasting impact on countless young lives.
A woman of many talents, Theresa found joy in arts, crafts, and ceramics. Her artistic endeavors were matched only by her love for gardening and tending to her plants. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darall Thomas, and her parents, James and Mamie Brewer, daughter Barbara Thomas; her brothers, Kenneth (Donna) Schmidt and Michael Brewer; and her sister, Cynthia (Danny) Shumaker. She is survived by her loving children: Jodie (Doug) Mortez, Missy (Tony) Mullinax, and Jason Thomas, and her beloved furbaby, Callie, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Theresa also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Theresa Mae Thomas will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
