Obituary

Eva Vasquez, a cherished matriarch and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Ecorse, Michigan, at the age of 92. Born on July 8, 1933, in Strong, Texas, Eva spent her life devoted to the care and happiness of her family.

Eva's love for cooking, crocheting, and homemaking was evident in every aspect of her life. She found immense joy in creating a warm and welcoming home, where she dedicated herself to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. Her culinary creations were a testament to her skill and passion, often bringing her family together around the dinner table to share laughter and cherished memories.

Family was the cornerstone of Eva's life. She found her greatest fulfillment in taking care of those closest to her heart. Her legacy is carried forward by her six children: Johnny David Vasquez, Mary Ellen (Fred, Jr.) Nelson, Yolanda (Ron) Marcott, Evaristo Panfilo (the late Patricia) Vasquez, Jose Dejesus (Laura) Vasquez, and Belinda (Dion) Earehart. Her love also extended to her 12 grandchildren: Jason, Brooke, Ronda, Christopher, Monica, Evaristo II, Armando, Joey, Mallary, Richard, Henry, Alexis, and Madisyn; as well as her 40 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Eva is preceded in death by her granddaughters Tabatha and Pamela, and her beloved husband, Evaristo "Buddy" Vasquez. She is survived by her devoted sister, Rita Murray, who shared in many of her life's journeys.

Eva's presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion that will continue to inspire future generations.

Condolences

  • Grama, I’ll miss you so much. I wished in the end I could have helped you more 💔. I’ll miss humming to you, cause you’re the only one who liked it. Lol and I’ll miss watching those crazy talk show lady’s with even tho I had no clue what they were saying and we made up our own stories. Lucky my favorite was watching El Rey cause I read the caption so fast. I love you. I’m glad you and grandpa are finally together again. Monica
