Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Gene Vaught, who departed this life on January 9, 2025, in Riverview, Michigan, at the age of 86. Larry was born on April 4, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan.

Larry was a dedicated member of several esteemed organizations during his lifetime. He devotedly served in the Downriver Honor Guard and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. His commitment and leadership were further exemplified through his role as Faithful Navigator for the Monsignor John Eppenbrock Council 3615.

Larry leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his children: Anthony (Paula) Vaught, Jeffrey (Judi) Vaught, Mark (Shelly) Vaught, and Melissa (Tom) Hayward. He was the proud grandfather of Taylor, Courtney, Alexa, Erika, Alene, and Sam, and the cherished great-grandfather to Winston, Eli, Ayla, Ethan, Calvin, June, and Cooper. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marlene Vaught.

He is also survived by his siblings Anna, Katie, and Jim, as well as many loving nieces and nephews who fondly remember him.

Larry's legacy of love and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Condolences

  • We offer our sympathies to the Vaught family. Larry and family will be in our prayers at this sad time. Richard knew Larry as both were members of OLOW parish as ushers and members of the KofC in Trenton and Fourth Degree members of the Pope JP II Assembly in Taylor. Larry was a very dedicated member of all the organizations he joined. He will be missed. May he rest in peace with our Lord and Savior. Richard and Barbara Lambrix
