Obituary

Ronald David Virga, born on September 19, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on October 15, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 72.

Ronald dedicated many years of his life working at Ford Motor Company, where he made lasting contributions and friendships. His passion for automobiles extended beyond his career, as he was an avid drag racing enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows.

Above all, Ronald cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. He found great pleasure in watching his sons and grandsons play hockey. He was his grandchildren’s biggest fan, always cheering them on.

Preceded in death by his siblings, Harry, Joe, and Rosalie, Ronald leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory. He is survived by his children, Wendy (Dwayne) Pachota, Ronnie Virga, Tony (Jamie) Virga, Joey (Natalie) Virga, and Nicky Virga. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored deeply.

Ronald's legacy of love and devotion to his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

In memory of Ronald, please feel free to donate to the Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit animal shelter or to the family for “Big Ron’s Pumpkin Fund” for next year’s big pumpkin.

  • First of all, prayers to his family in this most difficult time. I have known Ron since the early 1970s, when he became a member of the "Low Risers" car club. He had purchased Ron Crutch's 1964 Thunderbolt, and raced it at Detroit Dragway with the club. He bowled on Sunday mornings at the Satellite Bowl with the Club, and attended many road rallies with the club with all of us members. He even sat in the drivers seat of my 78 Blazer Plowing Snow for me for 2 seasons. We have kept in touch thru the years, as a lifelong friend. R.I.P. fellow gearhead, you are already missed. Al Hunt
