Carol Mae Wioncek, aged 89, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Taylor. Born on February 1, 1936, in Detroit, she was a cherished daughter of the late Theodore and Velma Norris.
Carol dedicated over three decades of her life to her role as a Ward Clerk at Oakwood Dearborn, where her unwavering commitment and gentle spirit touched the lives of many colleagues and patients alike.
Carol leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her children: Corrine Holden, Richard Wioncek, Rhonda (the late Scott) Berndt, Dana Barlage, and Wendi (Atticus) Ashby. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Stacey (Chip), Jamie (Justin), Savannah, Jasmine (Vince), James (Ryan), Bryan (Laura), Drew (Aida), Alyssa (Justin), Jonathan, Christina (Casey), Jillian, Markus (Jess), Heather (Ali), and Hunter. Carol was also blessed with a host of great-grandchildren: Cy, Gabriel, Mohamad, Laila, Sophia, Yusef, Valor, Cameron, Theodore, Shea, Crew, Ali, Willow, Landon, Mila, Cinco, and Nellie. She is additionally survived by her daughter-in-law, Vina Wioncek.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Wioncek; her son, Charles; her grandson, Richard "Little Ricky"; and her brothers, Theodore, Jack, and Gary Norris.
Carol Mae Wioncek's memory will be treasured by all those who knew and loved her. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and work will remain an enduring inspiration.
