Whitmore, Charles E., age 54, of Taylor, November 30, 2011. Dear nephew of Marjorie L. (Joseph W.) Smith of Palm Bay, FL and Joan M. (the late Edward) Taft of Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Whitmore was a music educator, instrumentalist and vocalist. He established the Taylor Community Chorus and the Taylor Community Band. He was director of the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Michigan, instrumentalist with the Downriver Community Band, member of the Downriver Council of Arts, music director for numerous musical theatre performances at the Wyandotte and Southgate Community Theatres, and the former director for the Woodhaven, Brother Rice and Waldron Marching Bands. He was also a soloist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
