Obituary
David Leo Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on August 6, 2026 in Wyandotte Michigan. Born on December 5, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, he lived a life full of love and adventure, reaching the age of 95.
Dave served honorably in the Korean War as a proud Army Veteran, dedicating a part of his life to his country. His passion for go-karting brought him joy, and he spent countless hours tinkering with his backhoes in his free time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose, his granddaughter Amanda, and his brother Bill Williams. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Barbara Williams; his children Ron (Chris) Williams, Steve (Jane) Williams, Val (Ron) Taylor, Sherrie (Dan) Lafferty, Marianne (Bob) Williams, and Rod Williams; his grandchildren Karen, Mark, Michelle, Lisa, BJ, Brandon, and Katie; his great-grandchildren Jacob, Sam, Reece, Charlotte, Olivia, Dexter, Willow, and Margot.
Dave's legacy will live on through the go-kart community he loved, his friends, and his family. His passion was tinkering with engines, managing his construction company, working on his backhoe and saving every nail, screw and piece of wood for “something later.” He loved feeding the birds and squirrels as well as any other animals as long as it wasn’t a groundhog tearing up his yard. We ask as we gather to remember him, share a great memory with friends and family about Dave's life and the adventure you shared with him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post on Telegraph In Flat Rock, in honor of Dave's memory.
