WILKINS, Deborah S., age 70, of Flat Rock, October 22, 2021. Loving mother of Brian Daugherty. Dearest sister of Diana (Jim) Beck. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Clara Wilkins and her grandmother Juanita McClellan. Deborah was a graduate of Flat Rock High School, the Class of 1969. She always had a passion for helping others and had a very loving and caring soul. Deborah spent her whole life in a law enforcement career, spanning over 30 years. She was a member of the Woodhaven Police Reserves for many years. She began dispatching for the Rockwood Police Department for many years and then went to become a dispatcher for the Lincoln Park Police Department. Deborah continued her Law Enforcement career and became the Animal Control and Code Enforcement officer, where she worked for 9 years. Deborah had a real passion for animals as well. She furthered her career with the Melvindale Police Department as the Code Enforcement and Animal Control officer until she hung up her hat and moved inside to become the Police Secretary at the Melvindale Police Department. Deborah was known as "Nana" and loved by all. She always had a smile on her face no matter the circumstances and loved going to work daily. Deborah also loved baking cookies for the police departments for all the hard work they did daily. Deborah at home was very dedicated to her yard work and always mowing the grass. Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

What can you say about Debbie. She was one of if not the sweetest ladies I have had the honor to know. She had such and big heart and she could make you laugh so easily. She made the world around her a better place. She will be missed by so many. Until we meet again I love ya Debbie. Josh Bowens
