Obituary

Gerald (Jerry) Julius Wojchihosky, born on March 26, 1947 in Wyandotte, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2024 in South Lyon, Michigan at the age of 77.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, whose warmth, humor and immense creativity touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was married to the love of his life and best friend, Irene for 53 wonderful years. Their journey together began on a blind date, which blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with love and laughter.

Jerry held a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University and had a long career as a graphic illustrator and Art Director. He worked for a variety of advertising agencies through the years where he was respected for his kindness and talent as an exceptional artist.

A man of many passions, Jerry was an amazing chef and loved to cook.  He delighted in sharing his creations with family and friends. He was also an avid reader with a keen interest in history. Along with his cousin, Jerry shared a deep interest in researching their family tree. Together with his wife and son, Jerry shared a love for camping and the outdoors. He enjoyed visiting lighthouses and collecting scale models.  In his earlier years, he loved painting, riding horses and giving Hungarian cooking lessons.

Family was the cornerstone of Jerry’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Wojchihosky, and his son, Jeremy Wojchihosky. He leaves behind his brothers, George Haller (Sue) and Ron Wojchihosky, plus cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Julius Wojchihosky and sister-in-law Marlene Wojchihosky.

Gerald will be remembered for his many talents, loving nature, caring spirit, and his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His memory will live on the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the time spent with him.
