Obituary

WIGGINTON, Marcia M., age 79, of Grand Rapids, May 17, 2022. Beloved wife of Thomas Wigginton. Loving mother of Dana (John Shannon) Lepien and Brad (Kari) Wigginton. Dearest grandmother of Mackenzie, Courtney, Matthew, Brynn and Addyson. She is also survived by her brother Lowell (Patricia) Forsman of Seattle, sister-in-law Marcia Moses, niece Renae (Brian) Smith, great nephews Bryan, Owen and Balan. Marcia grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, and attended Edsel Ford High School and Eastern Michigan University. She taught high school for 22 years, retiring from Truman High School in Taylor, Michigan. She was also a talented seamstress, designing and making custom draperies. After retirement she owned MW Interiors using her design talents to decorate many homes in the downriver area and later purchased and merged her design studio with Scot-Viking Gifts, happily serving the Trenton community for fifteen years. She had many hobbies and talents but perhaps her most loved was singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church of Trenton. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Virginia Forsman, her brother-in-law Robert Moses and her in-laws Jim and Peg Wigginton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Penrickton Center for Blind Children (penrickton.org) or Cure Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (curepsp.org).

  • I am so sorry for your family's loss. I knew your mom and worked for her for years. She and my mom is why I went to school for interior design. Up until working for her I did not know that was a major. I have fun memories of going behind your mom in the Scot Viking showroom and rearranging what she just moved. I also loved the challenges she gave me with clients. Amy, I need this design in this color, where can I find fabric or wallpaper that fits? And I need it tomorrow!!! Oh and and the street fairs. Those were tough. But all in all it was a great experience and I learned a lot from her. May her memory be a blessing for your family. Amy Bodell-Hersch Amy Bodell-Hersch
  • We remember your Mom with much fondness. She was always gracious and willing to join in the fun with our Florida group. Your parents are sorely missed in Palma Del Mar. John & Roxanne Dillon
