Obituary
Richard Raymond Winters, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Newport, Michigan. He was 78 years old.
Richard was born on May 16, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late William and Rose Winters. He grew up with his two sisters, Barbara Adams and Susan Madsen, who have also preceded him in death.
A proud Navy veteran – his commitment to service continued as he became a member of VFW Post 4230 in Rockwood, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and shared experiences with fellow veterans.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Winters, who stood by his side throughout their many years together. Richard was a loving father to his children, Steven (Terri) Winters and Andrea Winters, who cherished his guidance and wisdom. His legacy will live on through his beloved grandchildren, Robyn and Autumn, who brought immense joy to his life.
Richard is also fondly remembered by his niece, Amy Weisenstein, and nephew, Allen Kormos, along with numerous friends who valued his kindness and integrity.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will remain in the hearts of those he touched.
