Obituary
Stevenson Martin Wheatley, born on November 29, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 69 in Dearborn, Michigan.
Stevenson had a passion for life that was as vibrant as his love for old westerns and John Wayne movies. He possessed a remarkable talent for working on old cars and could often be found under the hood of his treasured 1997 green Chevy Camaro. His enthusiasm extended to attending auto shows and going on the Dream Cruise.
A man of many skills, Stevenson was a handyman who built decks, pantries, and bathrooms with dedication. He found joy in fishing and took pleasure in watching NASCAR races. Known for his great sense of humor and willingness to help anyone in need, Stevenson was a beloved neighbor and friend to many. Despite occasionally cracking open a beer against his fiancée Suzanne's wishes, he was always quick with a joke and ready to lend a hand.
Stevenson cherished the time spent with his family, frequently asking Suzanne if she was cooking dinner and enjoying every moment with his beloved grandsons. A devoted grandfather, he left a legacy of love and laughter for his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hulen and Helen Wheatley, and his brother, Joseph Wheatley, Stevenson is survived by his beloved fiancée, Suzanne Baltrip. His memory will be cherished by his children, Steven (Cheyenne) Wheatley, Amy (Jason) Stark, and Cindy (Mike) Oliver, Jennifer (Jason Shelton) Miracle, Denise (Jay) Williams, and Shannon (Brent Nichelson) Miracle and his grandchildren, Brennan, Jaxon, Jameson, Collin, Jake, Brandon, Ryan, Carolina, JayJay, James, Cole, Jordon and Jazlynn. He was also a beloved great-grandfather to many.
The warmth of Stevenson's spirit, his generous heart, and his infectious laughter will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
