Obituary

WEEKS, Terry G., age 66, formerly of McAlester, died September 18th in Dearborn, Michigan of complications from colon cancer surgery. He resided in Romulus, MI. Terry was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in McAlester on January 31, 1954, the second son of Leroy and Betty (Smith) Weeks. He was raised in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School with the class of 1972.He was a member of the National Honor Society at MHS. He graduated from East Central University in Ada in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and computer science. After graduation he worked in the accounting field and relocated to the Detroit, MI area with John F. Lawhon Furniture Company. He worked as an accountant and computer programmer for several companies during his career. Terry loved his family dearly. His daughters were his pride and joy. He had a big heart and always wanted the best for them. He was a kind and unassuming man. His passing leaves an empty spot in our lives. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. Terry was an avid McAlester Buffalo fan, especially football. If he couldn’t see or hear the game live, he would have someone call or text him with the score. He was so excited when he could watch the games live on the internet. He always flew a Buffalo flag or banner in his yard and his neighbors knew all about the Buffs. Terry is survived by his daughters-Nikki Weeks of Brownstown, MI., Danielle Paris and her husband David and their daughter Paisley, Terry’s only Grandchild of Southgate, MI. and Elizabeth Weeks of the home, his brothers Mike Weeks and David Weeks of McAlester, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and many other beloved family members and friends. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. Interment of his ashes will be at Indianola Cemetery, Indianola, OK. at a later date. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at that time at the cemetery pavilion. GO BUFFS GO!

Condolences

  • I didn’t have the chance to meet you but I can tell you were a wonderful person. I know this because of your daughter Danielle. She loves deeply and is so very kind and I know that is a reflection of you. My heart hurts for your family because I know they miss and love you dearly. I will be covering them in prayers everyday. My heart rejoices for your soul because I know you’re with Jesus experiencing the ultimate reward in a glorified body with sights and sounds more glorious than any human mind could ever imagine. Watch over Danielle and Paisely and send them comfort because they miss you terribly. Enjoy heaven. Mrs. Jacob Edwards

  • I just want to express my sympathies to Terry's daughters and family, he was a good man who loved his family with his whole heart. I fondly remember talking with Terry about our families southern roots and our love of southern cooking. Terry was a no non-sense kind of man, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace Terry, you were taken too soon and left a whole for all who knew you. Kimberly J Cooke
