Obituary

Theodore “Ted” Louis Williams, born on May 17, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, at the age of 77 in Taylor, Michigan.

Ted dedicated his professional life to his work as a Land Surveyor. In his personal time, he found great joy in his hobbies and interests, particularly his passion for model cars and automobiles in general. He was also an avid music enthusiast, with a special affinity for classic rock. Ted was the third member and first Treasurer of the Downriver Model Car Club, where he brought enthusiasm and harmony. Ted brought the motion for the DMCC slogan, “We build them mild to wild!”

Ted was known by all who knew him as the sweetest, kindest, and most loving soul. His wicked sense of humor and his unique ability to bring people together made him beloved by family and friends alike.

He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Marilyn; his parents, William and Ruth; and his sister, Donna Williams.

Ted is survived by his children Kevin (DeRelle) Cornett, Melissa (Thomas Paison) Cornett, and Michelle (David) Richardson. He was also the proud grandfather of Ian Paison, Joshua Paison, RC Richardson, and Xavier Richardson. He leaves behind his nephew, Justin (Melanie) Williams, and his great nieces, Emma and Allie.

Visitation for Ted will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service to honor and celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life luncheon to follow.

Ted will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and humor will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Parkinsons' Foundation.
