Obituary

Wanda Lynette Worley, aged 74, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Southfield, Michigan. Born on August 27, 1951, in Birmingham, Alabama, she touched the lives of many with her warmth and boundless love.

Wanda found joy and fulfillment through her work alongside her daughter in the music industry, particularly within major country radio. She took great pride in promoting records nationwide, a testament to her dedication and passion. Above all, her greatest delight was her family—her beloved children and grandchildren whom she cherished dearly. An accomplished cook, Wanda had the remarkable ability to excel at anything she set her mind to. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life; she loved Jesus most of all.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Willis Worley Sr.; parents Alvin James Pruitt and Doris June (step-father George Carlos) Rogers, her son-in-law, Estill Lee Sowards; her brothers, Kenny Pruitt and Steve Pruitt.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Sharmian Lynette Sowards and William Willis Worley Jr. She also leaves behind her granddaughters, Angel (Brandon) Harris and Faith Worley, along with her dear sisters, Teresa Keller and Marilyn Pruitt, nephew Brad Pruitt, her beloved grand-doggy Anna Nicole along with many cherished friends.

Wanda's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her memory will be forever held in the hearts of her family and friends

My heart to the family and friends 💛 May in this time each of your hearts be touched & held magnificently by YaHuah El Shaddai our Gracious beautiful Creator whom has borrowed his lovely daughter unto you on this Earth plane 🌎 as a mother or sister friend cousin grandma whatever she was and still is to you yet just away from her earth body SHE STILL LIVES Why because she loves snd knows Yahushua Jesus her everlasting love as her beautiful daughter Sharmain has mentioned. I was honored to have gotten to speak with her and she was a thrill a ball of energy. . Yes we know these times of saying farewell for a while can be scary. hard & profoundly heartbreaking but it's nothing to worry about We must learn to CELEBRATE as we Celebrate all together her Life living on into Eternity.... It's a part of Life's cycle. The body lives & the body we reside in our Spirit temporarily resides in eventually returns back to Earth... We all will have that great beautiful day to see the Father in Celestrial Glory Person till then as she is away from her earth body back with God fully we cherish her time the memories of what any of us had with her Bless her soul as she LIVES ON and bless each of your souls as you LIVE ON HERE..keeping her proud and doing your purpose in life in filling your part in the Will of God to the best of your abilities. The day the Lord took you home was definitely unexpected. I am very grateful for being able to have you in my life for the time I did although it was short it was sweet.. You are a very wise woman and I am very thankful for that.. you will definitely be missed by many. You rest in peace now Wanda.. God bless you and God bless your family. I have never been more proud of you in my whole life how you cried out to God to help you change your life and serve him the rest of your days, You are a true testimony that when someone wants to change, they can do it through Jesus, I can imagine your face when you saw Jesus. it was a pleasure serving Jesus with you, and joining me in my deliverances, I’ll miss my BEST FRIEND, I will miss our weekend trips, our weekend deliverances, crying out to God and the simple things like me bringing you home, enjoying our time together, I have to live the rest of my life without you and I have no regrets, I did everything I could to make you comfortable, to make sure you had nice clothes to wear to make sure you had all your toiletries, your hearing aids, your breathing machine. The only thing we didn’t get to was your teeth but we didn’t have time or that would have been done next, let’s not forget our Christmases together and Thanksgiving, Easter, your birthdays, and my birthday you always got the ice cream, we laughed so hard about that, you said, I’m sure glad it’s your birthday after I brought you the ice cream and cake, I’m sure gonna miss calling you every day to tell you what I did and you giving me advice. I’m gonna miss not having you in the music industry with me cheering me on when I would record my records, Life is not gonna be the same without you, my life has changed forever. I’ll be fine mom, go rest high on that mountain and enjoy Dad and our little Anna Nicole and the rest of the family, and remember one thing I will be there so look for me. The Lord showed me in a dream March 11, 2026 that DAD came back to get you, even though I was not there with you (not by my choice) God made sure I saw that DAD was the one to come back to get you, I would have loved to seen the look on your face when you saw who Jesus picked to bring you home, the love of your life and now you will be buried next to him forever and ever, and you will praise the Lord forever and ever, i’m fine mom and I have peace with the Lord‘s decision, I’m so happy you’re with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You never let anything come between you and your mom. Seeing her watch you at the Christmas performance in December was priceless! She was so beautiful.
