Obituary

Deborah Louise Yancey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in New Boston, Michigan, at the age of 55. Born on August 3, 1970, in Dearborn, Michigan, Deborah lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and community.

Deborah met the love of her life, Phil, when they were teenagers. Their shared journey began with youthful affection that blossomed into a beautiful 35-year partnership, solidified by marriage on May 27, 1995. For three decades, their unwavering bond was a testament to their love and commitment.

A devoted mother, Deborah's greatest joy came from being an integral part of her children's lives. With Phil, she founded the Huron Little League, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and community for countless youth. She truly delighted in attending sporting events, cheering on her children with endless enthusiasm. Her family was her whole world, and she gave them everything, dedicating her life to their happiness and success.

Deborah also cherished the beauty of nature, enjoying peaceful moments watching birds, especially cardinals, which held a special place in her heart. A dedicated fan of the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys, Deborah enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of rooting for her favorite teams.

Known for her selflessness, Deborah was always ready to lend a hand or offer support to others. Her generous spirit touched everyone she met, whether through cooking meals, organizing fundraising events, or simply being there when someone needed help. Even during her own cancer treatments, she extended kindness to fellow patients with thoughtful goodie bags.

Deborah's warmth and humor were embodied in her favorite saying, "Might cuss a little but I still love Jesus," capturing her authentic, loving nature that endeared her to all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Philip Yancey; her cherished parents, James Everidge and Linda Everidge; her loving children, Dylan (Skyler) Yancey, Erika (Trent) Vanduine, Dustin (Alex) Cochrane, and Kyle (Kaitlyn) Burkholder; and her treasured grandchild, Lennon Yancey. Deborah is also survived by her sister, Deanna (Curtis) Smith; her sister-in-law, Sheri Everidge; her beloved furbaby, Jackson the Yorkie; and her furgrandbaby, Rusty the Golden Retriever. She leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship that will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Preceded in death by her brother, James Everidge, Deborah is now at peace, fondly remembered and eternally cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
