Obituary

Our beautiful ANGEL was born on April 27, 1990, in Dearborn, MI, and gained her angel wings at the age of 34, on May 18, 2024. due to a tragic car accident.

Phylicia was a loving Mother to 5 beautiful children, a Daughter, a Sister, a Granddaughter, a Niece, a Cousin, an Aunt, and a Friend, but loved by so many who knew her.

Phylicia approached life with a vibrant spirit and a contagious sense of humor. Her bubbly personality could illuminate even the darkest of days, always quick with a joke or laugh. She found a passion in cooking, baking, cherished moments playing video games as young kids with her Dad and sisters, spending time with family and friends, and absolutely loved THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS!

Phylicia was a 2008 graduate from Lincoln High School of Ypsilanti, she enlisted in the Army right after graduating. She was a cook in the 82nd Airborne Division Infantry of the United States Army. She was discharged a few years later due to an injury to her ACL. Phylicia then joined the National Guard to continue her services in the Army. She chose to be discharged a few years later as a E4 and went to college. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree of Science. Her last job, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Pharmacy and loved her job and coworkers.

Phylicia is survived by her children Chase, Hayleigh, Mikenzee, Amelia, and Melodi, her parents Shannon and Randy Pickering and Benjamin and Saundra Zeestraten, her siblings Duryea (Clarice) Parkes, Samantha (Daniel) Kiraz, Ashley Zeestraten, Harmoni Pickering, C'aira Pickering, Olivia Pickering, Abigail Zeestraten, Zooey Zeestraten and Benjamin Zeestraten III, her grandmothers, Deborah Buchau, Helen Camilli, and Betty Black, several cousins, several aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews and so many other loved friends and family.

  • I am so, so sorry to hear about Phylicia. She was my pharmacy tech, quite an asset to the team, and helped me quite a lot personally. We chatted all through her last pregnancy and every time I came in, she ran over to show me pictures. She was a lovely person. Kind, caring, hard working, and loved her people fiercely. Anyone could tell by the way she talked about her children and family. I know she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. You have my heartfelt condolences...🖤🕯️☮️ Carol Campbell
